Have you ever met a kid who wouldn’t get their nose out of a book, a kid who would sneak a flashlight under the covers because they just have to see how the story ends? A kid who lived for reading? Well...that kid was not me! Yes, you read that correctly. I hated reading. I was the kid who loved to be read to, but when it came time to pick up a book and read it myself I just couldn’t do it. Silent reading time at school was like a jail sentence for me. A really, really loooong jail sentence! It’s not that I had trouble reading, but more like my imagination thought it was free play time and went berserk. I would open a book like other kids did, but I would use the time to day dream and create my own adventures instead. (This definitely posed a problem when it was time to do the book report.) Then I would frantically scribble my ideas down on any little bits of paper I could find and wait impatiently for creative writing time to come.

It wasn’t until I became a mom that I truly realized the value of a good book. The awesome places you can go and the things you can learn and not even leave your couch...the possibilities are virtually endless. But you probably already know that because...you’re here! Well, I say, “Read on!”

It is my goal as an author and illustrator to create stories that will inspire kids to pick up a book when it becomes their turn to do the reading and not miss out on fantastic adventures that take you anywhere you want to go!...So...get out of here! Go and read a book...(if you want to).
